|Winter Shelter Operations 2014-2015|
Dear Friend of MRM; Fall is here and winter weather is just around the corner. For you and me, that means turning up the thermostat, pulling out warm clothes, spending holidays with family and enjoying good food in a warm place. However, not all of Murfreesboro and Rutherford County will experience what we often enjoy. This winter, some will walk our city streets and sleep in abandoned buildings during freezing temperatures. Long term exposure to cold temperatures increases the risk of frostbite, hypothermia, and even death.
The Murfreesboro Rescue Mission remains committed to bringing much-needed shelter beds to our community, but many will suffer unless we do something now. The MRM has decided that we cannot wait to find a building before we help. This cold season, we are introducing our Winter Shelter Operation. This means, when temperatures sink to 30 degrees and below, the MRM will open a temporary shelter to take care of those who need our help. We cannot do this alone. We need your help. Please partner with us by considering a generous gift to help us provide much-needed emergency shelter.
